General & Family Physician 's  Response
Short Answer: For Vomiting and fever in a child, the gold standard treatment is to maintain water and electrolyte balance by Oral re-hydration solution or Intra venous saline.

Detailed answer: Almost all the gastro-intestinal infections of childhood are viral. Also a low White blood count is also indicative of viral infection. Viral infections are self limiting that is they heal on their own. Till they are causing diarrhea and vomiting only symptomatic treatment is necessary like maintaining the child's hydration. Medicines to reduce vomiting or diarrhea are generally not recommended as it may prolong the illness.
